NAFTA presented itself at the largest gas trade fair WGC

On June 1-5, 2015 NAFTA participated in the energy trade fair World Gas Conference (WGC), which took place in Paris this year. The motto of the twenty-sixth year was "Growing together towards a friendly planet", the primary focus of participants was the sustainable growth of the gas industry in the world.

Expert discussions at the conference were attended by 500 speakers, and the trade fair, which is an accompanying event of the conference, presented 350 exhibitors from more than 100 countries on the area of 40 thousand square meters. A new feature of the fair was a pavilion of international exhibitors and a pavilion representing natural gas as a fuel suitable for land and maritime transport. NAFTA in its 42-meter booth, with which it participated in the fair together with Eustream, unveiled flexible storage products and innovative projects the company is currently working on.

Representatives of the Division of underground gas storage and exploration and production of hydrocarbons also spoke at the conference, thus confirming the competence of NAFTA in this area.

The main topics of the conference included the falling oil prices, the access to new markets for LNG or security of gas supply.  Division Director, Ladislav Goryl, who at this year's WGC concluded his work as the chairman of the IGU underground storage working group, introduced new trends and directions of underground storage. At the end of the Conference, France transferred the presidency of the International Gas Union (IGU) to the USA  for the next three years, where the next WGC will be held in Washington in June of 2018.

NAFTA is a modern company with extensive experience in natural gas storage and underground facility development and, at the same time, it is the Slovak leader in exploration and production of hydrocarbons. The combination of favourable geological conditions and advantageous location of underground storage facilities of NAFTA close to the transit system supplying gas to Slovakia´s neighbours, sets ideal conditions for one of the key hubs of the European gas network.

The World Gas Conference (WGC) trade fair is the largest and most important event for the global gas industry. International Gas Union, the worldwide organization promoting progress in the gas industry, organizes WGC every three years since 1931. The conference and the trade fair bring together experts from dozens of countries, and they discuss the latest developments in technologies, strategies and opportunities for the gas industry.
