NAFTA was a partner of the Central European Gas Congress

The international conference Central European Gas Congress took place on April 26-27, 2016 in Bratislava. Deputies of the European Union, Slovak Republic, Russia, Hungary and representatives of the gas companies from 6 countries presented their views on current issues of gas industry. The company NAFTA was one of the partners of this interesting event.

The 7th Central European Gas Congress was organized by Slovak Gas and Oil Association during the 160th anniversary of gas industry in Slovakia. The keynote speeches about the current market development were delivered by Peter Pellegrini, Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investments, Peter Žiga, Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Maroš Šefčovič, Vice - President of the European Commission, Viktor Zubkov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom, David C. Carrol, president of the International Gas Union and other important speakers.

The conference covered various topics within three panels, where many interesting opinions of gas experts and analytics from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Ukraine and Russia were presented. The first conference panel was concluded by the presentation of Martin Bartošovič, General Director of NAFTA, in which he specified the new infrastructure projects in underground gas storage area. He explained the significant role of underground gas storage in the security of supply and referred to the importance of effective cost management in the infrastructure projects. He also mentioned the necessity of innovations in the gas storage business, which NAFTA also endeavors to implement in its activities.

The 7th Central European Gas Congress provided interesting remarks and perspectives of the future development of the gas industry. The wide range of the presented ideas confirmed that this event is a significant international platform to share the current trends in the gas market.
