NAFTA staff members keep their tradition going at Od Tatier k Dunaju
At 7:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, motivated NAFTA employees were standing at the starting line, ready to run the 345-kilometer stretch, which they would do in 31 hours and 17 minutes. Three newcomers on this year’s team were able to fit perfectly into the established group of runners, assisting them as they all negotiated the number of kilometers everybody was supposed to run.
NAFTArahumar RUNNERS captain Vladimír Lorenc gave the following evaluation: “In spite of the unfavorable weather forecast, we were able to weave between the storm clouds without anyone really getting wet. However, two runners paid the price for the pleasant running weather and no heat when they were caught in a heavy downpour they “enjoyed” on the stretch from Selnica to the shepherd’s hut at Stráže. It was a pleasure to watch our experienced runners trying to sell their experience to the newbies by running their stretches at their best. Nobody got hurt and we enjoyed quite a lot of success this year. On behalf of the entire team, I want to thank our employer NAFTA for its excellent support. We appreciated very much that our CEO came personally to encourage us on as we ran.”
Congratulations go out to the members of the running team. We are quite glad for the NAFTArahumara RUNNERS team each year motivating newcomers to join the team. NAFTA is also very happy to support our staff taking part in various attractive sports events such as the Medlenov Chodnik (Medlen Run), Do práce na bicykli (Commute by Bike) and Od Tatier k Dunaju, among others.
