NAFTA’s main priority is to protect employee health and ensure its gas storage system remains fully operational, as it plays an important role in Slovakia’s energy. Although its activities lack visibility, they nevertheless are an essential part in the normal life of many households and businesses in Slovakia.

Slovakia has more than a century of tradition in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, starting with the first discovery of oil in Záhorie in 1913.

The 14th Central European Energy Conference was held virtually on September 28, 2020, with energy experts focusing particularly on a recovery plan. One of the conference’s key topics was the gas industry, which compared to other countries is quite well developed in Slovakia. Chief Executive Officer Ing. Martin Bartošovič spoke for NAFTA about the future of natural gas and gas infrastructure.

For the fifth time, the NAFTArahumara RUNNERS team have successfully completed Od Tatier k Dunaju (From the Tatras to the Danube), Slovakia’s largest relay run. Starting at Jasná in the Low Tatras, they ran non-stop during the day and overnight night so that by Sunday afternoon the teams had finished on the banks of the Danube in Bratislava.

NAFTA a.s., a leader in Europe’s underground natural gas storage and hydrocarbon exploration and production, has reported after-tax profits for 2019 of €70.1 million.
